Rugby Ontario Partners with Canadian Tire Jumpstart

Further to the announcement of the Rugby Ontario partnership with Canadian Tire Jumpstart (see email below), and with the rugby season now underway, now is a good time, if you haven’t already, to share the program with the parents of junior and minor players at your club who you believe could be eligible for assistance from the Jumpstart program.

The program is designed for kids from families with financial needs. Eligibility and the amount of assistance is based on a combination of family income, location and size of the family unit.

Rugby Ontario has registered every Member club with the Jumpstart program. If a family successfully applies for funding from the program, the payment is made to your club by cheque, not the family. This is to ensure the funding is directly applied to expenses the player incurs in playing for your club. If the family has already paid all their expenses for the season, you can reimburse them when the payment is received. We have provided Jumpstart with the club mailing address indicated on your 2017 Club Membership form. If this has changed please advise.

Applications must be lodged by the family online with Canadian Tire Jumpstart. They are not lodged by or through your club or Rugby Ontario.

The link with more information, eligibility details and to lodge an application is:
