Canada U18 Squad Announced with 2 Blues Players

Coach Dean Murten announced his U18 squad for their tour of Ireland in March, and it included Thomas Davidson from Chelsea Quebec who plays for the U18 Junior team and Nicholas De Lallo from Ottawa. Congratulations to both of them on their hard work.

Thomas Included this message with his selection:

I started playing rugby in the spring of grade nine at Lisgar Collegiate Institute. Since then, I’ve played for Chelsea RFC, Bytown Blues RFC, Ontario East, Quebec and Voyageurs. While at Lisgar, I had the pleasure of volunteering as a coach for York Street Public School’s flag rugby program, sharing my passion for the sport with inner-city kids. This summer was particularly full of rugby as I captained the Quebec U18 team to victory at the Eastern Canadian Rugby Championships in St. John, New Brunswick before representing Eastern Ontario and Quebec at the Canadian Rugby Championships with the Voyageurs U19 team and finished second in Ontario with the U18 Bytown Blues. This fall I started studying Life Sciences at the University of Toronto where I play for the Varsity Blues. Through my performance with Quebec U18 and Voyageurs U19 I was identified as a potential candidate for the Canada U18 squad and attended training camps in October and January. I have since been selected the U18 team to tour Ireland on March 22nd – April 3rd 2016. The Rugby Canada U18 program is the continuation pathway to the National U20 and Senior Men’s team and I’m very excited to have been selected. I would like to thank Coach Heavy, Coach [Scott] Hunter, Jim Shaw, my teammates, and the entire Bytown Blues RFC community for contributing to my rugby development. Please support me as I represent Ottawa rugby on the international stage. To donate please visit https://donate.rugbycanada.ca/e/davidsont.
