Bytown Blues Rugby Club’s Brendan McGovern Named OUA All Star

Ottawa’s Bytown Blues Rugby Club, one of Canada’s top up and coming rugby clubs, is today celebrating the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) announcment that the Bytown Blues Brendan McGovern has been named an OUA Men’s Rugby All Star.

McGovern, a 4th year scrum half for Queen’s University Gaels, had a standout season for Queens following exceptional performances for the Bytown Blues 1st XV and the Lower Canada Voyageurs Senior Men’s team this summer. McGovern is also a graduate of Ashbury College, Eastern Ontario Juniors and the Newfoundland Rugby Union’s representative program.

“The Bytown Blues are extremely proud of Brendan’s accomplishment,” stated Bytown Blues President Curtis Crawford. “Brendan is an extremely talented rugby player and he has a very bright future in rugby – the world’s greatest game.”
